Is 500w enough for this setup

LegionOfHell

Any decent 500 watt power supply is better than any crappy 700 watt PSU, let alone a thermaltake smart.

Your setup will draw close to 300 watts at full load.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I5-6500 bclk overclocked to 4.5ghz

Gtx 970 overclocked

2x8gb ram.

I am looking at this power supply:

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=100-GD-0500-V1

Is 500w enough or should i go with a cheap 700w psu like this:

https://www.thermaltake.com/smart-700w.html

Don't go with a "cheap" PSU no matter the wattage.  The ROI isn't there.

Also, pretty sure you can get similar quality 550W or 600W for same money.

The EVGA GD is a fine power supply, decent for the purposes of this PC.
