Can hot weather damage my GPU/PC?

ManderleyBoy

I currently moved to a new apartment and still don’t have an AC set up so it gets pretty hot especially now since it’s summer.

I open the window often to air out the room but I’m sure humidity enters my home from outside.

Is this dangerous?

How hot is it? Use software to monitor temps then you will know for sure.

Where do you live? What is the humidity..?

Greece. It currently reaches up to 34C during the day. The humidity is around 80%.

The inside of the home seems to be around 25-26 according to my thermostat.

That isn't all that hot.

Just check your temps using coretemp for CPU and msi afterburner for GPU. But that is under 80f, which is totally normal... 80% humidity is a bit high, but PC will be fine.

I’m not really educated on this but I assume the inside humidity of my home shouldn’t be equal with the outside, right? Even with open windows.

If you don't read any news about a pc blowing up sporadically in the middle east, you'll be okay.

He means your not the only person in the region without AC, and none of their PC’s have died.

AS far as your ambient temps are concerned, you are good. And your PC will just be fine. I'd close the windows if I were you. And rather make us of your indoor room ventilation. You are probably just getting that high humidity when the weather is gloomy or when there is rain. But if you are really concerned about high humidity, you can just simply get a portable dehumidifier and put it in the room where you PC is. And set it to maintain at least 55% RH.

And actually, while your PC is ON, you do not have to worry about the humidity inside your PC. Because the heat that the parts(cpu, gpu, vrm, chipsets, etc...) are producing inside your chassis is enough to dry up any humid air that your system airflow is circulating.

Not unless your room is on top of a boiler or something...then that is a different story.
