I want to know what are the difference between the rtx 3090 and the rtx 3090 ti, and what are the uses for each of them?

There isn't much of a difference.

Their use cases are 4K gaming and GPU accelerated productivity workloads.

The 3090 Ti draws about 30% more power for about 8% more performance, on average, at 4K. Sometimes you get about 12% more performance, but a lot of times the performance is only 3-4% better than the 3090. And again, this comes at a massive increase in power consumption and also a big increase in cost.

Both products are dumb in terms of price-to-performance and performance-per-watt, but the 3090 Ti is even more dumber than the 3090.

Not trying to sound unhelpful but the many written and video reviews of both of these cards did not contain any of the information you seek here?

I have both.

The 3090 ti is cool and well engineered and my 3090 is not.

The difference is about 20c on the vram and 10c on the GPU.

My FTW3 Ultra 3090 ti uses about the same power at idle as the 3080 ti version.

In games it is about 10fps more.

Here are some 4k numbers.

Spoiler

Shadow of the tomb raider at the highest preset.

                                                                     4k

MSI Gaming  X Trio 3090/i9 10900kf           97fps

FTW3 Ultra 3080 ti/5900x                          104fps

FTW3 Ultra 3090 ti/5900x                          116fps

FTW3 Ultra 3090 ti/i9 11900k                     117fps

Horizo Zero Dawn

                                                                     4k

MSI Gaming  X Trio 3090/i9 10900kf           87fps

FTW3 Ultra 3080 ti/5900x                            88fps

FTW3 Ultra 3090 ti/5900x                            98fps

FTW3 Ultra 3090 ti/i9 11900k                       98fps

The gaming experience is no different with any of these GPUs so if you don't need the vram get a 3080 ti.

The 3090s are mainly used for 4 & 8k video editing. My Son dose it as part of his living and the 3090 I use is basically a spare.

The 3090 ti I bought on a whim. It is used just for gaming.

both are good for productivity

for gaming only, best bang4buck atm is the 3060ti or the 3080, 3080ti also has no bottom ram and makes little sense at current pricing.
