Heat added by RGB

I have LED lightbulbs throughout my house. A large part of each bulb is heatsink and the lightbulbs are hot to the touch.

 

I'm considering adding RGB (with Lian-Li UNI fans) to my system. But will the RGB LEDs add heat to the inside of the case? Does RGB in components (light strips, lights on boards, lights on fans, and everything else) contribute to heat in a PC?

What case do you use and is your fan configuration?

RGB components can contribute to heat output in a system but typically its not enough to make a difference. (Although there have been cases where RGB has hurt Peformance on SSD's as the heat caused the drive to overheat) I have not seen anything since so I think that was a wack case of the rgb being to close to the nand and being to bright. Fan lights contribute little heat. Everything puts off something but if you want to add some RGB fans/Ram/ECT you will be fine. Your room temp will have more effect of system temps than some rgb.

If you add some RGB you will be fine temp wise with no noticeable effect.

Negligible amount, compared to CPUs/GPUs/PSUs. On the order of single-digit-watts.

Considering most RGB headers do 25 watts or so, maximum heat is negligible and you won't notice a temp difference unless your case is extremely restricted.

 

I can do a maximum of 122W of RGB through my motherboard's 5 headers. While this seems like a lot, it is spread through the case, and not all of that energy is directly heat energy.

It has been documented in the past that, uh, weird stuff happens when you stick RGB in the wrong places.

 

This is very much an edge case, though. Normally, RGB does not at all meaningfully contribute to the heat output of a system.
