Rm750x cables

MingLee420

Planning to clean up my pc and add a few things but while going to do that i might as well plug a 2nd pcie cable in due to my 3080 running on 1 pcie that has a daisy chain as i head it can perform better but relief stress on the cables and seeing that my mobo only has 1 cpu power cable but has space for a 4 pin power but my psu only has an extra 8 pin for cpu power should i care about it or no as i already ocd the cpu and is probably unlikely that i need a 2nd cable

IMHO, seeing you already running the CPU with OC without problem with only 1 CPU cable.
I won't bother adding another one and use the slot for the GPU, it is more expensive anyway. 😂😛

The RM750x 2018 (as per your signature) has 4x 8pin connectors on the power supply that can be used for either PCIe or EPS12V cables. You should be able to use both 2 PCIe cables and 2 EPS12V cables, right?

If you only have 3x 8 pin CPU/PCIe connectors on the power supply you have the older 2015 version. If that's the case then I would use the second cable for the RTX 3080 graphics card, you likely don't need a second cable for the CPU.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450
