Headless Proxmox copying the jonsbo n1 NAS build Linus did. However I can't connect to it after installing proxmox on the SSD using my main PC

Title sums it up. I am basically copying the jonsbo n1 build however I am using proxmox instead of freenas. I have installed it twice on the SSD. It boots up fine on my main pc. However when I disconnect it and put it in the jonsbo and boot up I cannot access it on my main pc. I used the IP I set via the web, tried putty etc. I then scanned my ips and found nothing is showing for the assigned IP. However my router shows somthing communicating. Any ideas?

Sounds like your BIOS is not configured identical.

In any case, I would recommend you to install proxmox on the hardware you plan on using with a temporary gpu setup and remove the card once its installed.

 

I havent watched the video, I am not sure about the specs. Might want to include those in your post regardless.

Connect to Jonsbo N1 keyboard and monitor and check if you have networking setup correctly. If you are using different MB or NICs in Jonsbo N1 build then its highly possible that nic names dont match in configuration. Check actual nic names on Jonsbo build with command :

ip a

then compare/edit nic names in network configuration

nano /etc/network/interfaces

after edit reload network

ifreload -a
