Odd wireless bluetooth VOIP related audio static

I've noticed for several years that whenever I'm on a zoom call or anything like it that there's always a very low and quiet muffled static sound whenever my audio is VOIP. It's been easy to ignore in the relatively limited time I'm exposed to the issue but it's been bugging me more and more. Regardless of which computer or wireless bluetooth headset I use, I always get that same particular kind of static when on anything that uses VOIP. I just finished building a new PC with an HD audio jack and it became my first opportunity to see if a fully wired sound system would eliminate the issue, and it did. Why do only my bluetooth audio connections seem to have problems with VOIP audio and handle non VOIP audio with perfect clarity?
