How good is Spellforce, no.3 particularly.

Never played Spellforce series, somehow it was always under my radar. Can some veterans tell me, how fun is this game, this RTS. It is like Warcraft 3, CnC, AoE 2 kind of fun? Interesting or dull? Any thoughts?
