thunderbolt dock will not connect to thinkpad

A quick Googling tells me this is an AMD laptop. Generally AMD laptops don't support TB3. The Caldigit dock probably doesn't support being used as a USB+DP target without a TB signal.

SPECS: thinkpad t495 and a caldigit something dock.

I have bean unable to get these two to connect.  My dell latitude was able to connect to the dock just fine and the thinkpad had a thunderbolt dock that it connects to just fine. I don't know the model of the other dock unfortunately.

I live in misery USA. my timezone is central daylight time which is either UTC -5 or -4 because the government hates everyone.
