It is compatible; will it perform up to max capabilities even at stock? That's the question. Maybe maybe not depending on the VRM and BIOS.

What country are you in and what's your budget? 11th gen isn't a good choice really.

It will work. If it's cheaper than the 11700 there's no reason not to get it instead.

What's your application?

Do you have a microcenter nearby?

If so,

If OP lives near a microcenter then the best option would be to sell the b560 board on ebay and get a 12600k with a b660 board ($20 discount for bundling in-store).  They sell them a lot cheaper there (like $230-$250,).  The high boost freqs and e-cores make it a very reasonable choice compared to the 12400 or 12700.  Then again, I think Microcenter is fire-saling 11th gen so maybe that would still be a decent option.

EDIT:  The 11600k is $150.  That's your ticket right there, bro.  If this is a gaming PC that's easily your best option.

No argument from me; just assembled a 12600KF/B660/3060ti for my BIL and it's a great combo.

1. I live 4 hours away from the one in tusin, and with gas prices, the fact i cant drive yet, and my dad not wanting to drive there, unfortunately micro center is a no go.

2. I'll post the b560 on ebay and craigslist and see if i get any takers.

3. The 11600k is a no-go because I do music production, video editing, game production, and streaming (im a very busy m̶a̶n̶ boy) and i kinda need 8 cores or more. Thanks though!

What are you using right now?  Compared to anything past, modern 6-cores are really fast, probably a lot faster than you'd expect.  It's not like 2 cores are gonna make that much of a difference when they're the 2 least-used cores, especially when the 11700k is $300 online and the 10400f is $115.  For videos it will literally only make renders 30% faster AT BEST with perfectly optimized software and a non-real workload.  The rest of what you're doing won't really care.  So we're realistically talking about a final render taking 10 minutes instead of 12.  And that's after 2-3 or more hours of editing work, so crocodile tears in the ocean.

This is compounded by the fact that you're still talking about gas prices and being under 16 years old., minimal improvements in render time are not worth nearly tripling the price of the chip.  All of your projects will still export, it'll just take a fraction of time longer.  And compared to how long the actually editing takes, it's meaningless.

The advice to sell and switch to alder lake was entirely based on living near microcenter, I'd just stick with 10th/11th gen if that's not doable.

What exact model? Some models really suck with a 11700(K) and up like the cheaper Asrock, Asus and Gigabyte boards.

The problem with the 11th gen chips is that none of them are faster in real life than the fastest 10th gen chip, and the fact that there's no absolute winner in 11th gen lineup feels bad.

I got the Z590 with a 10900K right before 11th gen launched and thought if the upgrade was there, I could get one later just for PCIE4. Turns out there isn't a single chip in the lineup that isn't a compromise. If there was one that was objectively better in every way, I'd have upgraded. But nope.

Yeah, see my earlier post.  The cores on the 10400f are more than twice as fast each compared to that 2120, and having 6 of them hyperthreaded with Ram that's 3 times faster, you'd be more than capable of doing all your stuff and you'd save A TON of money for CPU that's gonna perform pretty much the same for whatever you're doiing.

Well, it has the same VRM as the B560M-K which get very hot, even with an i5-11400.
