System Data on mac os went up to 780 gbs

I have 1 Tb on my mac i was uploading photos to the cloud from my phone and downloading them on photos from my mac, all of a sudden i get a notification that i have low storage to see i have 3 gb left out of 1 tb it says 780 are in system, i called apple support to no avail and still have no storage left is there anything i can do or try to fix this? they suggested rebuilidng spotlight index but idk how that would help

Can we see a screenshot of the storage part of "about this mac"? Best to remove any identifying information from the pic.
