Question

RazerLeb

Hello everybody, i'm 15 and i'm building my first pc ever and I had a question if I should get the 6500XT or 1650? ( non super ) I don't do any editing/video recording/rendering or any content creation at all and I don't plan to do any.

Also I only play competitive games so low graphics on everything. I mainly play rust and maybe a little valorant if it matters. Also on my old laptop I used to play on all low settings + 1440x1080 resolution so that's the same i'll be running on this new computer. ( I'm from europe if it matters )

Prices: 6500XT - 234 euros ( the one I want to get is ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6500 XT OC Edition 4GB GDDR6 1xHDMI 2.1 1xDP 1.4a ), and the cheapest 6500xt is 223 euros the model : ASRock AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT, 4 GB, GDDR6 )

1650 - the cheapest is 214 euros the model MSI GeForce GTX 1650 D6 Aero ITX OC 4GB GDDR6, and the one I would prefer tho is : Asus GeForce GTX 1650 4GB TUF Gaming OC DDR6 - 256 euros.

Computer specifications :

CPU: i3-10100F

MOBO: MSI B460 M-PRO VDH

RAM: 8x1 @2666mhz

CASE: Deepcool Matrexx 30

PSU: SilentiumPC elementum e2 450w

STORAGE: 240gb patriot burst SSD

MONITOR: Aoc 24g2u 144hz IPS ( i'm not planning to get any more monitors since one is plenty for me )

And the upgrades I'm planning to do are a 600w PSU from bequiet, a new case, upgrade the ram to 16gb ( the first thing I'm doing after getting the pc ), and later on a new motherboard + cpu

My aim with this pc is to achieve atleast 100fps while fighting/shooting. Because with my old laptop I used to play on 40fps all low graphics and many stutters so i'm basically aiming to get more than that so I can have an enjoyable experience ( not saying I didn't have it with my old pc actually made a bunch of memories with it and had a fantastic time even on the low fps ). So yeah i'm still short around 100euros so I'll only be able to get it next month or so.

So that's your current system, you already bought all of this and you just upgrade it, okay.

Here's a benchmark ranking with different graphics cards. So, the 6500 XT should be a bit faster.

Sounds good.
If you want a budget case, I like the looks of the Phanteks P300A and the NZXT H510 Flow.

If you want to spend more money, I also like the fractal design torrent series.

Not right away my plan is to upgrade the PSU,ram, case in 3-4 years or when i start getting super low fps but ram is my number 1 ofc since rust requires 16 gigs of ram.

Get the 1650. You have a B460 and 10th gen CPU meaning you're running PCIe 3.0. The 6500 XT can perform really bad at PCIe 3.0, worse than a 1650 in a lot of cases, so unless you're upgrading to Ryzen, 11th or 12 gen you shouldn't get the 6500 XT.

What about buying used? You could probably get something better like a 1060 6gb, 1660, 1650 Super, 5500 XT (yes it's actually better than a 6500 XT). If you're lucky you might be able to find a 1070/1080/2060/5600 XT. When buying used make sure to see the GPU working before buying.

Well see I know that there's better gpu's in the used market but i'm from europe and I can't find any 5500XT , 5600XT used even the 1660 ( normal version ) is 400euros used 1650 super is 330 euros 1060 6gb is 300 euros. And also my parents don't really understand computers so doesn't matter how many times I tell them , they are still saying that I should get a brand new instead...

And in youtube videos I saw that the person running the exact same config as me was getting around 80-90 fps average on medium-high settings in a very high population server in rust. Except ofc he had 16 gigs of ram
