Steam down/ acting weird for anyone else?

I got a client update (twice, i always get them twice for some reason but i don't think its related to this) for "better / easier online connectivity"...

 

Well and since then i keep getting signed out of friends and also even getting online is difficult...

 

Steam also thinks Im in "offline mode" even though I can play online/ visit the store etc.

 

On reddit a lot of people complain about Steam being down - but its not actually down I think... its just buggy I suppose? 

 

So annoying,  but yeah, anyone else experience this?

had a similar experience a while ago, the only things we could put it down to was

A) hardware specs to low ( couldnt cope with all the steam helper files )

B) OS issues if was linux ( just think it had issues with some package or kernel updates )

C) very buggy internet connection ( congestion or bad isp DNS servers)

 

with A and C being the likely culprits

thats what it felt like - it seems to work fine again,  i think it may have been a side effect from the "better online" "fix" ... but i also found this

its super annoying because due to the "improvements" this update brought its now much more difficult to reconnect if there are issues.

Welp, its still messed up... what did they do? Oof!

 

as you can see he's getting my messages... even though it says "failed"...

 

the thing with my "cloud" save is also messed up... it just overwrote my perfectly fine save with a 2 year old save!

 

 

Internet is a "OK" its clearly Steam being messed up...

 

 

ps: this is exactly whats happening... im not alone lol...

 

its just, steam don't care... "improved online connectivity" my ass lol.
