Well, yea it is. 6 Cores 12 Threads vs. 4 Cores 8 threads.

Also, you have a Vega 7 instead Vega 6 Graphic, so tghe Graphic is better too.

Both are a "Cheap Entry-level Series", so you can take either. Unless one of them has a Backlit Keyboard.

If you don't need the maximum Performance (like those 6 Cores), you might think about a refurbished Thinkpad T580 with Intel 8th Gen 4-Core Chip.

Yes, performance will be a little behind. But Build quality will be a alot better.

But the older integrated Graphic is alot worse.

Need some information about my first budget laptop for casual use, movies and light gaming. I have around 550€ and i am between Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ALC6 r3 5300u and Hp 255 G8 r5 5500u. They are around the same price but isn't supposed the r5 5500u to be better? Happy to hear any and all recommendations. Thank you.

Really depends on another specs (RAM, storage, etc), but I guess that HP would be the winner if I searched about those two.
