Putting maximum capacity of RAM on my ASUS Strix Z390-E Gaming motherboard: (2x32GB) kit or (4x16GB) kit

Go to solution Solved by SupaKomputa,

There is no 32gb modules by the time this mobo released, so you will not find any reference on 32gb dimms support on the page or manual.

But according to the bios page, it supports 32gb dimms from this firmware patch:

However to be sure you can contact them before buying. Or buy it and return it if not compatible.

Hi guys;

I have an ASUS Strix Z390-E Gaming with 4 Slots of Ram. The motherboard Supports Maximum of 64GB of DDR4 RAM.
My current Ram aren't working (4x 8GB) & I'm planning to buy 64GB Ram for my 3D work & video editing.
Question is: If I buy (2x32GB) kit, will it work or I have to buy (4x16GB) kit to use the maximum capacity

Here's what my Motherboard manual says:

4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 4266(O.C.)/4133(O.C.)/4000(O.C.)/3866(O.C.)/3733(O.C.)/3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666/2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

Dual Channel Memory Architecture

Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)

* Hyper DIMM support is subject to the physical characteristics of individual CPUs.

* Refer to www.asus.com for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).

STRIAGHT from the motherboard manual; only 16GB DIMM modules.

32GB sticks will NOT be compatible.

Also the Memory QVL list only lists 16GB sticks. No 32GB sticks anywhere.

If you want 64GB of memory, you will need to with a 16GB x 4 set-up.

The G.Skill memory configurator lists a number of 2x32GB kits that are compatible with the motherboard.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
