Block Drive from being formated.

I installed a second drive on my pc for mass storage.

But went I went to reinstall windows I accidentally formatted it.

Aside from being careful is there anyway to prevent this from happening again?

Normally it's not really something you need to be careful to avoid. With the exception of the install windows dialogue, where you can delete and format partitions in a single click, basically every other way to do it within windows will require multiple clicks and warnings.

In terms of being careful when reinstalling Windows, it's best to disconnect all drives but the one you're installing to, so you can't accidentally format it or chose the wrong drive.
