Building my own NAS

I want to build my own nas. Thats a fact. 

 

Now i have a HP Compaq Pro 6000 SFF DDR3-SDRAM E5400 Intel® Pentium® 2 GB 320 GB HDD Windows 7 Professional PC black.

 

I am thinking on putting in two 4GB ram sticks in stead of the two 1GBs. 

 

And adding two 8TB HDDS.

 

Will this work for PLEX and normal file sharing?

It will work, yeah. Although I believe PLEX if you do transcoding will need way more RAM and a dedicated GPU.

I run my NAS on Windows 7 shared folders on an intel Atom CPU so just for filesharing lowspec is fine.

No, that CPU has no where near the grunt to transcode for plex
