I want to get a RGB cooling fan to install into my PC, but not sure which one to get. Need help deciding a good one.

cwgzz81

Budget (including currency): 50-100 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: N/A

Other details: I want to get a RGB cooling fan for my i5 12400 but am not sure which one. I recently upgraded to a new case that came with 3 RGB fans and I also bought a 3 pack of RGB fans for exhaust as the 3 fans that it came with were only intake. Anyways, seeing my computer light up with all these fans is making me want to upgrade my CPU fan to an RGB now too. I don't know if I would need to buy a bracket or something in order to fit the new CPU fan, but if I do, please let me know. I have included a picture of what it looks like now. This is my first ever build so I think it turned out great so far.

Just to clarify, you want a heatsink or just a fan? I am not sure if you can just change the fan on that cooler.

If you meant heat sink, do you want Liquid cooling or just a metal heatsink?

Edit: an additional question. Are your current fans ARGB or just RGB. Meaning do they connect to a controller that you can control with your computer, or is the controller controlled by a remote?

Sorry I probably edited my post. Refresh plz. Build Specs Below.

Oh I would want a heatsink, not a water cooler, I would have to remove the front fans that came with the case, and it's not necessary to get a water cooler.

And I don't know if they are ARGB or RGB, but there is this little oval shaped thing that has one button on it that is connected to the wiring, and that changes the colors of the lights. I don't use that so I just shoved it in the back of the case to hide it away. I like the rainbow colors as it so I would never need to use that button.

So you have some options then. Since you are LGA 1700 with your 12400, I will stick to heatsinks that support that.

You could get this: https://www.newegg.com/thermaltake-cl-p105-al12sw-a/p/N82E16835106689 Just basic rainbow Fan on a heatsink, probably controlled like your current set up.

Next Option is getting a bland heatsink like this: https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-rr-212s-20pk-r2/p/N82E16835103330 or this (since its on sale): https://www.newegg.com/cooler-master-rr-212s-20pc-r2/p/N82E16835103329 (Same cooler different fan). After getting that you can get pretty much any 120mm fan you want and slap it in there. I would recommend a name brand one with very good airflow.

I would just recommend the on sale cooler master one, but I don't know if it has true RGB, it might just be solid colors. I can't say for sure.
