Monitor stutter/frame limits when second monitor uses graphicscard

Hi,

I have 2 monitors a 240hz Benq XL2546 (Main) and a 60hz Dell U2715H (second), RTX 2070 and R9 5900X.

When I play games on the main monitor and do anything requiring the graphics card also on the second monitor, like watching twitch or youtube,

the main monitor gets weird micro stutters, or maybe it forces the FPS down to 60 its hard to tell as the ingame fps remains high but the feel is very different.

The issues is not present if the a video is playing on the main monitor and running games on the main monitor at the same time. so it seems to be something with the second monitor interfering.

 

Here is what I have tried so far.

I turned off shadow play.

Try all options in NVIDIA Profile Inspector M, Multi-display settings.

Updating drivers for graphics card and both monitors.

 

Any ideas as how to fix this?

I get something similar on my system i have a 144hz main monitor and a 60hz secondary monitor.  If i try to watch videos on the 2nd screen while gaming the video and the game seemingly randomly stutter.   I just live with it, so i would love to know if there is anything to do.

 

I have a AMD 3700x and a 3080 on Windows 11 (latest update and drivers).

I am on 1.2.0.4, i see 1.2.0.7 is beta, 1.2.0.6 is not beta.   Does 1.2.0.7 fix this issue specifically (are there examples?) or are you just suggesting we go to the latest, i may try 1.2.06 first...

1.2.0.7. fixes a huge part of the performance issues caused by the fTPM module, it affects windows 11 but also Windows 10 if Secure Boot is enabled.

1.2.0.3 and 1.2.0.4 are known for issues, 1.2.0.5. on some boards, 1.2.0.6 fixed a lot of stuff including memory compatibility in many situations, the USB issues etc.

1.2.0.7 is a beta because it doesn't solve the fTPM issues for everyone in every situation, it is not a full fix. But it's a huge step in the right direction.

I installed the latest bios that includs  "1.2.0.7" last night, (I have an Asus X570-E Gaming), but i haven't used it enough yet to know if the issue is resolved or improved.

I just updated it too, I can say for me it did not work sadly.

Which connection types are the monitors using? Both monitors have their drivers installed?

Both using Displayport, their drivers are updated and so is the graphicscards

Does the same happen when you try using a lower refresh in the faster monitor?

How do GPU memory clocks behave under such load!

Well, it seems to soft framelimit the 240hz monitor to 60hz while the second monitor uses graphics, I suspect that its something to do with the graphics card, not liking the two diffrent framerates for the monitors.

 

The GPU memory seems normal, far from the 8GB the card has.

Memory clocks, not memory ussage.

 

What happens when you switch the DP connectors on the GPU?
