RTX 2060 OC vs RTX 1660 Super

Need to upgrade a work PC which runs photoshop and premier pro mainly.

Both these cards are roughly the same price (where I am)

Both are 6Gb, 14Gb/s

2060 = 160w, 1920 cores, 1710Mhz boost

1660 = 135w, 1408 cores, 1815Mhz boost

For $50 more I can get the 2060. But the 1660 scores higher on user benchmark.

Any real world experience for this comparison?

For one, please don't use userbenchmark for that. Second, the 2060 is way better because of its tensor cores so that you can use DLSS. Also a non pre-OC'ed 2060 can be OC'ed to get more performance, so if you want to spend the extra 140$, go for the 2060

First, don't use UserBenchmark, it's very inconsistent with its benchmark numbers and generally just doesn't make any sense. Plus I'm pretty sure that number takes into account price for the best "value" part, but if they're the same price around you that shouldn't really matter.

The 2060 is about 10% faster than the 1660S depending on the workload, and the RT cores can be useful for things like DLSS and certain professional programs. For $50 more it's probably worth it.

That is irrelevant for performance, it's just the memory size and memory bandwidth

I will go with the 2060 then, Msi or Asus?

MSI or Asus in your opinion?

Doesn't matter, whichever is cheapest or you think looks better. Both of their RMA departments kinda suck and don't honor second had card prices (I'm assuming these are second hand cards), and the difference between one model and the next at ambient cooling is 15-30MHz at most thanks to GPU boost, an imperceptible amount. The only real difference is looks (though I'd try and avoid the single fan models since they tend to be a bit loud).

The 2060 is much better. But if possible get an RX 6600

Yeah the RX 6600 is also the same price for me) Google says it comparable to a RTX 3060, is that true?

At 1080p yes. But if you use a lot of ray tracing or play at 1440p it should be closer to the 2060 than the 3060 (2060 sucks at ray tracing, just like AMD)

The RX 6600 specs are well above the GTX 2060, but some are saying it must be an Nvidia card. I do see some people are using AMD cards however.

What I can get my on: these are all new and about the same price (here) I'll give price in my local currency (m is million IDR) 1m = $68 USD

ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 RTX2060 Dual OC Edition EVO 6GB = 5.9m
MSI RTX 2060 Ventus GP 6GB OC = 5.9m
Next step up is RTX 2060 Super = 8.9m  (not an option)

XFX RADEON RX 6600 CORE 8GB DDR6 SPEEDSTER SWFT210 = 5.9m
Next step up
ASROCK CHALLENGER AMD RADEON RX 6600 XT 8GB PCIe 4.0 = 6.9m

The RX 6600 XT is by far the best performance and only 1m ($68 USD) more than a RTX 2060

I think for your use the 6600 and 2060 should perform pretty similar. 2060 has cuda cores which can be useful, but the 6600 is better in general and has more VRAM, but AMD is usually worse in this use. I think the 2060 might be slightly faster for you but not much.

Between these 2 2060's pick whatever you like the look of, as their coolers perform similar and both have customer support that's not great but could be worse
