Input lag on tv but not with monitor, rtings review shows lower input lag in ms for the tv but its drastically different

Gohardgrandpa

Ok, so I didn't know where to post this. The monitor section is pretty dead so I figured I'd go here and see what kind of info I can gather.

With my rig in sig, 5600x, rx6700xt, (Monitor) dell s2721dgf 11.1ms @60hz 1440p, (TV) Tcl 43s525 10.6ms @60hz 4k

I'm getting crazy input lag on the tv using a wired xbox controller and cannot figure out why. Playing dead by daylight on pc on the tv the input lag is awful but it's fine on the monitor. If I use my series x on the same tv or monitor with DBD I have no issue at all.

The goal here was to use the TV as a second screen for videos and web browsing and playing open world games on a bigger screen with a controller so i can kick back a little. Any help here would be appreciated.

I've tried only having the tv hooked up to the pc with the same 2.1 hdmi cable that I use in the living room with my lg oled and the series x, 3 different hdmi 2.0 cables, using a wired controller, using mouse and keyboard

No cpu mobo or ram atm

Have you tried changing the tv settings when connecting the pc?

Have you set the TV into the PC mode, or into GAME mode?

I only see your reply if you @ me.

The tv is in game mode, that was the first thing that I checked. Everything is fine temp wise, gpu usage is at 99% and running good.  My fps is fine, I cannot figure this out for some reason

It does not, I have the option to name the input as computer which I have done and gaming console which I've also done. I just renamed the input manually as pc.

Does the "game mode" disable all the motion enhancements and other post-processing? Every TV seems to treat this differently, so I just wanted to clarify.

I went in and checked to make sure everything was off other than game mode. It's weird as hell. I have used this tv for almost 3 years, PS4 pro, Ps5 and a series x and have never had an issue with input lag. I play MLB the show a lot and it runs just as good on the tv as it does my monitor, for some reason it's running like shit when hooked up to my pc.

Can you enable freesync when you connect your pc to the tv?

Is there maybe also an Computer mode, that would have less latency?

According to Rtings, it should have a separate mode, although they don't go into detail exactly what it does.
