best cpu for lenovo e93z all in one?

JimmyHackers

got my dad this pc a while back. its begining to show its age.

i will swap the hybrid ssd/hdd out for a normal ssd.

if this doesnt help and its still not great, what's the best cpu i can squeeze in there? ( it has an i3 4130 currently)

bear in mind i want to do a straight cpu swap. no mad frankenstein powrsupplies hanging out the back of it.

what does he use it for? is the cpu even the limiting factor? i would suggest doing the ssd upgrade first, and see if he is happy with the performance before going for a cpu upgrade.

browsing, shopping, videos, internet calls. nothing too intense

its most definately the hdd atm. it gets pinned at 100% usage quite frequently with the cpu , ram etc at 50% or lower

i have seen the cpu spike to 100% under certain situations so its still a concern.

im just wondering what cpu i could squeeze in there (mainly power demands are my concern)

another 50-60 quid could get me something 2nd hand with double the cores and 20 - 30% faster per core.

ive been eyeing up a few i7 4770s, its tdp is 65w compared to the 4130 54w, i am just wondering if the thing could take it.

i figure the ssd will use less power and another 11w doesnt seem like a lot.
