Thoughts on Ladder Life?

Hello friends!

 

We've had the insurance provider Ladder Life reach out about doing some sponsor integrations on the podcast version of The WAN Show (available on all podcast streaming services!)

 

Generally, we don't work with healthcare related products (Betterhelp, medicine, supplements, etc.), but health insurance is something that a large portion of our audience needs and Ladder Life has a positive reputation from what we could find online! We'd love to get your thoughts on this service as well as any experience if you guys have used it before.

I'd like to make it clear this is not a healthcare product, this is a financial service. No part of this company or it's product cares whether you have diabetes or cancer or prefer to use healing crystals. It only cares how much money you put in and how much you get when you die.
I still stand by my opinion that you should not be working with financial services as it doesn't fall in an expertise where you guys are really aware of what you're endorsing. It also has such a significant impact on people's lives that I'd just rather you avoid finances and stick with products you can actually endorse fully with experience and expertise. That aside, I have a few points on this company. Haven't worked with them myself, but from a quick search, they only offer term insurance. Whole life is a ripoff, so this is a point in their favor. On the other side, they have a digital only claims process which is not a good thing, and they've only been around since 2015, so they're not trusted and reputable yet simply because they're new. they could be great or they could be the absolute worst, but they haven't really been around long enough to know what they will become if they become larger as a company. 

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.

TL;TR This could be could for some people but I think that people should do do their own research with anything regarding anything finance instead of just seeing what brand their favorite youtuber recommends.

 

Any financial company that tries to give off a 'cool' and 'young' vibe to their consumer just turns me off a little bit. Unfortunately, almost all those companies are the ones that are sponsoring creators. I don't care if their brand has fun and bubbly colours. When it comes to finance, I want someone I can trust. When an organization like that is trying to advertise to a consumer via a social media creator that they (the consumer) trusts, it just comes across to me as trying to lure them into something they know relatively little about. You as a consumer should do your own research and find the best provider for you, not listen to whatever sponsored talking points are given to a creator.

 

To be clear. I'm not picking on Ladder Life specifically. I'm sure it's a fine company, but they should let you find them, not the other way around. If you want to raise awareness about life insurance in general, I'm 100% onboard. It is an important thing to have. But don't pick any specific providers. That's for me to decide.

 

I am open to other viewpoints.

I am not a fan. The way their site looks, the big benefit of this whole thing is that the older you get, the less coverage you have. I don't see an upside to this. They say it's cheaper or gets cheaper, and sure... but the older you get, the closer you are to death and the closer you are to wanting to leave something behind. I'm just not a fan of these. I feel like the whole laddering down concept is going to get someone screwed over in the long run.

 

I also don't like LTT advertising these kind of services.

 

I'm fine and happy to see ANYTHING tech. I'll take ads for furniture. Garden tractors (it'd be funny as hell if John Deere wound up an advertiser).

It would appear that LadderLife is simply a reseller of Allianz Life insurance.

I bet someone made that website in an afternoon with airtable and softr. Anytime you see a large header picture followed by a banner of featured on with a FAQ it's a no-code website that was made in less than a week for a pump and dump. I know people in the industry and this is boiler plate how all the websites look and the featured on is not technically truthful as you just pay for it. The rest of the site like the blog posts are all AI generated then reviewed by a human with SEO tools.
