A little too honest... Taking over $2k products from the office, most likely without asking. That would get you fired and maybe even jailed, anywhere else. Linus must be a saint compared to other employers. o_O

I believe that while they say stole from the office I imagine that outside of maybe Edzel most of the time people have properly signed out as they are using the equipment. Since most of the time it seems like a lot of the computer parts that are being used for the final machine are ones from the LMG Storage as there's the little QR code thing visible on a few of them. Since that's how you get stuff like Nicole stealing a whole fridge.

It does though seem like Hoffman has a certain sense of humour since he was the one who said "they're both laggy and sh****" about the 6 editors 1 CPU.

The "stolen from the office" thing is just some kind of a joke for the videos. There is no way any employer would tolerate everyone of his employees just taking stuff. Especially when "stuff" is multiple thousands of $ worth of tech equipment. Even if Linus wouldn't go after them for it there are other people high up in LTT that probably would. It's clear that Linus is mostly not involved with HR decisions.

 

Or i'm completely misinterpreting it and this is a thing in "canadian work culture"? I'd probably get a warning for taking $10 worth of stuff from work and get cought. Idk if other countries have a similar system. Warnings work like YouTube strikes: If you collect a few of these, you're gone.

 

But theft is also a valid reason for an amployer to instantly fire someone, no matter how many warnings someone collected.

I may have found them but they dont seem correct for motherboard screws. The bag looked like cablemod and I thought I head them mention them in the video.
