Skip GRUB on dual boot?

Changing Windows to the default option in the Bios, skips Grub. If you modify Grub to use Windows as the default it will just select it after however many seconds you set it, that's why I also suggested you reduce this time, I use a 3 second delay. 3 seconds is enough time to choose something else (the timer does stop if you hit a key) but not enough time to be annoyingly long.

 

Personally if you aren't going to use Linux, you might as well just remove it. Going into the Bios all the time would annoy me more. However to each their own.

So, I got my Framework laptop up and running, and installed Windows setting aside a partition for a Linux install. However, I have a (admittedly very strange) hang-up with using dual-boot -- I don't want to encounter the GRUB screen every time I boot into Windows, since I use it as my daily driver while I want to have a Linux distro installed for occasional use. Is there a way I can just let it boot into Windows by default, and whenever I want to use Linux, let me boot from the BIOS?

It's entirely possible that I misinterpreted/misread your topic and/or question. This happens more often than I care to admit. Apologies in advance.

You can set the Windows partition as first boot device in the bios. However why now, change Grub? Change windows to the default option. I would also suggest you reduce the default time it allows you to make a selection. I know on my machine I have it set to 3 seconds to I don't have a 10 second delay to my boot time.

I think I'd rather just skip GRUB outright because I get super bothered even by small skips. Is the GRUB itself part of the boot priority that gets set to the top when dual-boot is enabled? i haven't tried to use dual-boot in >10 years.

If you don't like Grub you can just remove it from your Linux install but if you do you probably will have to go into BIOS every time you want to try Linux.

Yeah, this is the desired result for me, as strange as it may seem. Quite frankly I'd rather boot from BIOS every time I use Linux rather than wait 3 seconds for the GRUB screen to lapse when booting into Windows. Thanks!
