No this is the mentality of how shitty code gets written and telling millions of people to download and run it is not a great idea. Thio could have easily implemented an agile or test driven development model with a UML diagram for architecting and readability. Thio knew he was going to release the code to the public so he should have incorporated better development practices. It's simply the industry standard and there are hundreds of tools to help you now days with it. Because as of right now you are defending a plumber for using duct tape to stop a leak because it technically stopped the leak when really they should have replaced the broken pipe as would any good plumber would do. So again no do not promote writing shitty code because someone didn't take the time or effort into learning how to program. A week of learning will save you more time than you will ever "save" by doing it as fast as possible to meet a specific requirement. Input validation and edge case testing are serious cybersecurity points that should not be overlooked.

Yes, if someone wants to do harm to my crowd and I definitely will do something about it. But writing a script to delete comment does not stop bots nor impersonators, just delay them until you stop updating your script.

 

I think YouTube kinda of use "comment section" as a indicator for the recommendation algorithm at one point, which make a lot of creators ask their viewers to comment. As the saying goes, "It takes all sorts to make the world"; and making it worse, YouTube does not have a effective way to regulate.

 

However, all the creators can take the responsibility saving their comment section.

 

If asking for subscribers is effective, then I suggest "Like, subscribe, and comment" could be change into "Like, subscribe, and don't make bad comments". It might not only drive more viewers to check the comments, to see if there is any bad comments, and maybe actually leave a comment after checking a lot of them.

 

I have a game server, and I found out that the top reason why my players breaking the server rules is they don't know that is against the rules. I strongly believe why impersonators exist is they don't think it will cause trouble and consider "copy&paste" is funny.

 

Bilibili, you might heard of, which more or less is the Chinese YouTube, has a VERY STRONG culture by the users to report any inappropriate comments when encounter (to be clear, it does not require by the government, it technically is a site rule), which might be the medicine for YouTube as well.

 

Yes, encouraging people to report inappropriate comments does not stop people making bad comments, but at least it will let people know how to comment over time, including "do not be an impersonators".

To be a bit more clear, you are dismissing the entire concept of community created and maintained tools based on the way this specific product was developed. You did this in your first comment in this thread, and you keep doing it in a circular pattern, repeating the same narrow banded binary statement as if that is the entirety of the concept. Meanwhile, I have been trying to show you that the entire concept of community maintained products to moderate a platform isn't as ridiculous as you make it out to be, as those already are out there and have been for a decade on platforms like reddit and years on platforms like discord. 

 

Even if the code of the project is as bad as you have said. Something you haven't actually shown other than some broad hand wavy statements. It can still very much be a kick-starter for other projects to approach the issue with proper code. Or if the code is actually salvageable, guess what, it is open source you can contribute to it and actually improve it. Something that wouldn't have happened if they had kept working on it without making it public.  

 

Hell, even some bigger, very successful open source projects with a solid code base that are around today started out a bit of a mess.

I said the execution was bad because it was. Given the choice to do it well or not you are actively defending doing it shitty is the better option. Yeah if you read you can see where you became misguided with what I had said before. Also calling upon Youtube to take action doesn't instantly mean leaving it all on Youtube and simply hoping for the best. You can protest for change and call upon authorities to take action while also working as a community to fix the problem. You can see this everywhere in the world with support groups for minorities and so on.

I also drive a volvo as one does being norwegian haha, a volvo v70 d3 from 2016.

Reliability was a key thing and its my second car, working pretty well for its 6 years age xD

Just an experience.. My youtube channel is nothing. I have 27 subscribers, but I get an occasional comment.I wondered what this would do for my channel. It flagged a fellow youtuber's comment as spam. It is the only one and he is definitely not spam. So that is a confirmed false positive. But I was using NUKE mode. I was looking for documentation on how to run it against other's channels for 'reporting' only.

Wow this would be awesome if YouTube would actually implement it. But unfortunately they probably won't do, and if they do it it's gonna take forever.

I notice that your version does not have the text (Not Case Sensitive) like in my screenshot.
I would reinstall the script with the latest version.
