Is the Dell G15 RTX 3050 Ti any good for VR?

Can it even handle VR.  I don't know what sort of outputs you need for that these days.  The last time I messed with it you had to have two HDMI ports.

It'll depend on the type of headset you're trying to run. A 1st gen Vive will probably run just fine with one of those. A Valve Index probably won't.

So the two HDMI ports isn't a thing anymore?  Wait was that only cause I was using VR and a TV at the same time?  Now I can't remember.  Would this be able to run a tv too on top of the VR?

I'd assume it would be possible to use the Type C for DP while using the HDMI port for the TV, but laptops are weird, and I've seen stuff like that not work. You should definitely be able to run the headset off the laptop, running both the headset and an external display might not work, and without a laptop in hand to test it, I don't know for certain.

Yeah and I didn't see any good reviews on this laptop that's why I came here.  Sadly not many people talk about VR in laptop reviews anyway which is a shame cause to me the laptop in a backpack is the best way to do room scale VR.  The stand alone and wireless options suck but I keep tripping over the cable and I dont' want to build one of those cable arms to hang from the ceiling.  Plus part of the idea is using it at conventions where setting that up isn't really possible.

I had to look it back up cause I didn't think that was right and I was gonna post the userbench but now I see that who ever told me the 3050 ti was comparable to the original 1080 was full of it.  You win some you lose some
