guys, i have a question my board have usb-a 3.2 gen 2 but ii can not find any  usefull devices or hubs that make use of that,

 what are capable devices that can use this speed over usb-a ?!

portable SSDs and more expensive USB thumb drive (electronically they are the same thing). For most peripherals USB 2 would be sufficient.

You need 3.1 adapters or you will lose speed. USB 3.2 is a clusterfuck of names, 3.2 Gen 1 = USB 3.0 and 3.1 Gen 1 at 5Gbps, 3.2 Gen 2 = USB 3.1 Gen 2 at 10Gbps, 3.2 Gen 2x2 is the only new one at 20Gbps

 

Type A to Type C just changes the connector shape, everything else is the same as on Type A.

but i can not find any usb hubs on usb-a 3.2 10-20gbps they are usb c so i need a working adapter / cable from what i readed and find oss is that usb-a cables can not handle the speed witch is odd because usb-c cables are much thinner and work fine

I got a feeling that you're doing things in the wrong order. You first have some drive you want to use, then decide where to connect it. You shouldnt buy anything just to fill up all the ports, there's nothing wrong with leaving ports unused for now.

its not that i am using unraid with passhtrough, and i could passthrough 1 of the usb controlles witch is a 2 port usb 3.2 gen 2 , and i want to split that up so i can hook up also external ssds in windows via the passed through ports/controller, right now i have to turn down my vm to connect / disconnect a hdd/ssd and that mess up the custom xml
