Ram upgrade for a laptop with onboard ram and 1 emptty slot

I want to upgrade my ram but i got only one slot with onboard 4gb ram eith 2666mhz

how to choose which ram i need that will run perfect with same timings

If this is a laptop, you may be able to buy another sodimm with the same part number. Otherwise try to match the speed and timings. (The existing module will have this information printed on it.)
