PC was working last night, now power button won't work.

Souzaphone

windows 10

x64

windows 10 was originally installed

3 years old

I have reinstalled the OS

Intel i5 11400

ASUS ROG strix rtx 2070

MSI-Z590-A PRO

Corsair Cox series 650 watt

Desktop

I installed my new mobo last night and was able to run my computer and play games for several hours. I go to turn on my PC this morning and the power button no longer works. I notice that my mobo is still receiving power as the led on my GPU is still on. I tried to manually start my PC by putting a screwdriver head on the two power switch pins and it still did not power on. I think it has to be a problem with my motherboard, but I just installed it last night and was able to turn it on.

Pls help...

What was your previous motherboard?

Is there a burning electronics smell coming from the system?

Try completely removing power from the system until all LEDs power down. Wait several minutes, and then power the system back up.

My previous motherboard was a z390-a pro and I was having hardware issues with that one so I bought a new cpu and motherboard.

There is not a burning smell coming from the system.

What do you mean by this last part?

Also I can link you to my previous post that has all the problems with my previous board.

That seemed to do the trick. What happens if this happens again? Just do the same thing?

Try setting the PCIe generation in the BIOS manually to PCIe 3.0.
