I512600k wont boot after overclock

So i have a MSI z690-a wifi ddr4 and a i512600k.  I tried overclocking and now it wont boot.  Powers on for 1 sec then off.  Just red light on mobo.  i changed ratio to 50 on p cores and 40 on e cores, with fixed, not dyanamic.  It boot fine.  Then i chagned the "ring" setting and after the reboot, it no longer works.  Tried cmos jumper and battery removal and still nothing.  I just got it so i can return it, but is there any other tricks that anyone knows about?

Thanks

Try to boot the motherboard without any cpu installed and then reinstall the processor and see if it boots

yes, tried that.  It boots fine without CPU in socket.  So you think i fried the CPU?
