Long boot time on a laptop

my rog strix scar 15(2021) takes around 20 seconds to boot.  that is far too long compared to my other laptop(which is six years old).any idea what is causing the long boot time

Did you change any settings in the BIOS maybe? 
Is it using an HDD or SSD? If SSD, NVMe or SATA? 
Do you have a lot of devices connected to it? Have that with my ASUS laptop when I have more than 3 devices on the USB ports it takes around 45 secs to boot. 
Maybe try clean up the drive.

right click your C drive - properties - Disk cleanUp - CleanUp System files - Select what u want if you don't want to roll back to an older windows update remove old windows update files. 
Trimm the drive maybe then reboot and check if it is still slow.

Trimmed the C drive ,removed everything except the charger. boot time down to 12s

make sure you dont have on silent mode also make sure your boot device is not a HDD if its a newer model i could bet it would have a port for an nvme. If so get like a 980 pro or somthin they have insane speeds.

Also try out windows key and R Then put (Temp) delete everything in there they're just files your pc doesnt need and it takes way longer to search for the thing your operating system needs if you dont delete them. Also do (%Temp%) and delete all of those.

the temp folder get's cleared when you reboot the PC so no need for that.
