Help with picking out a new cpu and motherboard

Budget (including currency): $500

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly programming and high range MMORPGs

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): 

Current Parts: 

Case: NZXT H500i

Cooler: CORSAIR HYDRO Series H115i PRO

GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX Geforce RTX 2070

PSU: Corsair CX series 650 Watt

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB

 

Parts I am looking for: 

A Motherboard

A CPU

 

The only thing I have to keep in mind/watch out for is whether or not my cooler will be compatible with the cpu I decide to get.
