Yeah, you’re like 1/5 of the speed. I have no idea. Everything seems fine, but your GPU is slow, but I don’t think that matters. Maybe do the test again?

It's either thermal throttling or you have an incredibly high background utilization. Check your core temps with a utility like HWiNFO.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 Fedora 35 x86_64

Secondary: Intel Xeon W3680, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, 24 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Windows 10 Home x86_64

Server: 2x Intel Xeon X5670, 72 GB 1333 MHz DDR3-R Ubuntu Server 20.04.3 LTS x86_64

Home Laptop: Intel Core i5-L16G7, 8 GB 4267 MHz LPDDR4x Windows 11 Home 21H2 x86_64

Work Laptop: Intel Core i7-10510U, NVIDIA Quadro P520, 8 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 Windows 10 Pro 21H2 x86_64

Like what @svmlegacysaid, check your temps. You may have a bad cooler. Can you tell me what your CPU cooler is?

how are you doing today

Ok, definitely not the cooler. Do you have a DGPU? The GPU may be bottlenecking the CPU.

What are your idle temps? If you open HWinfo in sensors only mode. Scroll down to the CPU section. You'll see a list of "PerfCap" reasons. Run Cinnebench. Do any of these go from yes to no?

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

A DGPU is “Dedicated GPU.” Yeah, that GPU is bottlenecking the CPU.

Mind listing your specs? Motherboard, storage, PSU etc. The more the better.

Nevermind. I see it ran fine now. When you got the low score, did you end it in the middle of a pass? If you did, you probably just got points for "completed" renders. You could set a minimum time of 5 or 10 minutes and let it run. If you do, you'll notice it'll go until 5 minutes are up, finish the current render it's working on and then end your run. That could have effected your score.

Maybe it was a glitch. I know for sure there is no possible way an i7 can go THAT low. (Newer i7’s.)
