Dual GPUs on ASUS Z690 Maximus Extreme

theskaz

Currently I have 2x 3090s and nvlink bridge installed into my new mobo. It is running at 8x/2x instead of 8x/8x. In the bios there is no way to change 2x/4x for NVME drives, like in my older mobo. M.2_1 is Gen 5 and is shared with PCIEx16_1 and PCIEx16_2. the manual specifies that if there is an nvme drive in M.2_1, PCIEx16_2 will be disabled. it is unpopulated. instead, I have Gen 4 drives in M.2_2 and M.2_3 (RAID 0). Those slots are Gen 4, not Gen 5.

does anyone else have a similar setup? or know what I need to change in the BIOS? ASUS isnt helping because my memory (Corsair Vengeance 5200C40 2x16GB) isnt on the QVL. Corsair Vengeance 5200C38 is on the QVL, and I have tried running plain JDEC, XMP, and have overclocked to the 5200C38 specs to try and rule out the memory.
