Do any other variations of these exist?

Are there any other laptop dvd drive adapters other than these? All I know are, the actual dvd drive, an m.2 + msata, and a 2.5" sata.

I used to have one of these with an old Thinkpad, replaced the DVD drive with extra battery, though I'm pretty sure it's dependent on your laptop model whether this would work. As for any other types, I wouldn't be surprised if there were ones that added extra ports like smart card or USB, but I don't feel like checking to see if they exist.

Not really looking for anything, just curious. Though if one has multiple usb ports or something like that, I would consider buying it.

I didn't even know that was possible. Interesting.

AFAIK they only work with a few specific laptops, so they're probably designed around being able to do that. It's been a while since I used them, but I could've sworn it used its own connector instead of SATA.

Was it something like this? I think it’s a PATA port
