Pc performance issues

JessyJames

Hi there,

It’s been about 2 months since I upgraded from my 1660s to a 3060ti! After the upgrade I noticed very little improvement. Right now I’m just wondering what I need to do in order to resolve this issue 🙂

GPU hangs around 40% ~ 57% usage on any game that is high or ultra. FPS then averages from 70 - 98 in those games, cpu usage is also at about 50% if that matters.

here’s the build;

ryzen 5 3600x

aorus x570 motherboard

16gb ram 3200mhz ( dual channel )

3060ti

650w powersupply

If you need any more info, I would be glad to help.

Thank you

DId you nuke/fresh install Nvidia drivers?

Do you play on low res?

Did you tweak smth like voltage in MSI/Afterburner, or use NiceHash/QuickMiner or smth?

Can you provide graphs of CPU and GPU usage, clockspeed and temperature while in game? Should be pretty clear what's going on. (HWInfo or Afterburner make this easy)

What resolution is your display?

Which / what game(s), and resolution?

If the game(s) is poorly optimized, then...it is what it is....

If the game(s) is only coded to uses 2 or 3-cores, then your Ryzen 3600 will never exceed 50%.

Escape from tarkov, halo infinite, Witcher 3, darksouls 3, dead by daylight, new world, rainbow six and RE Village. Unless I forgot some, these should be it

I did nuke/fresh installed Nvidia drivers, I play on 1080 cause of my 1080 monitor. I did overclock my cpu which increased the voltage, with proper guidance ofcourse!

seems unnecessary.  id remove that.

also btw resolution doesn't make that much of a difference,  its true higher res will shift load towards gpu but in almost all games i tried this effect is very small.

as for cpu usage you can check with msi afterburner overlay but make sure it shows *all* cores not just overall usage.

It seems that my gpu utilization went up while having after burner open and trying to test it all, which also increased my fps drastically. What could be the cause?
