Help with finding a nice TV to watch movies and game on.

Makaroni

the issue. I need a MAX 50 inch 4k TV which is both good for gaming (PS5 4k 60 FPS) and for 4k movies.

Budget: 1000-1250 EUR

What i would it to really have is the ability to read mvk files and to have decent blacks (the room is facing south so not a lot of sunlight)

Extra Info.
I am a complete noob so i really need assistance becase people at my local eletronic stores are literally trying to upsale me to 60+ inch models or OLEDs which are out of my budget.
The distance i will be watching the movie or game at will be at about 240-310 CM from the TV, (my gaming room is small)

Since i have concreate walls and the room is small i have a Sony SF150 soundbar (i do not care about bass that much) and the quality is good enough for me (not a audiophile like Linus drop tips)

I do not have a prefrence for brands as-long as i can get a decent quality TV
If there are new models coming out soon i would also not mind waiting as the apartment right now is in renovation and will not be done untill April 2022

Thank you all in advance for your recommendations.

50" is a bit small for a 126" viewing distance, but if that's what you want, go for it.  Budget or not, those stores are probably sticking to the 1:2 rule for viewing distance.

If you're wanting it to read any kind of files (mvk, mp4, etc)--you're playing with fire.  DRM has gotten REALLY persnickity about what can be played back, which just led me to the PC>HDMI>TV route in order to avoid the issue.  The very same HD plugged into my blu-ray player often generates error messages on many files.

1000 euro probably has a lot of options in your budget, but getting the black levels/accuracy that appeals to you--might be the sticking point.  I'm 100% a believer in MASSIVE size > bump in g2g, blacks, or HDR; that a 120" HDR10 display offers much better "viewing experience improvement" than a 60" with HDR12 and OLED black levels.  Might not be the case when we're talking about 5-10" diagonal difference...but 200%+ size increase is a colossal difference

If you can pull your couch/seating arrangement towards the display, I think a 48-55" OLED would be your best option. My 55" OLED was just over $1k (USD) because it was a refurbished panel. 4k/120hz is amazing, the blacks are unbeatable, and I don't think I could ever go back to an LED/QLED display.

The LG OLEDs have the best gaming support, 120hz, HGiG, crazy low response times, and VRR, they really are the perfect gaming displays.

The TV might be able to do that with USB, however, if you setup a Plex server and use the Plex app on the PS5, you should be able to just stream it over the network. OR you can hook a PC up to the TV and you will have little to no issues with playing most file types.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

That budget should/may be able to fit a 55" OLED. The 55" LG CX is right in your mentioned range over here. It will get you the best blacks you could ask for and LG's OLEDs are also good for gaming. As always with OLEDS, do be aware of the potential for burn-in, but also don't lose much sleep over it. With varied content it should be a negligible issue.
