Bought cables for PSU but it doesn't seem compatible?

Hi,

 

Bought a cable from E-Bay type 4 for my AX1600i. However, I don't seem to see that it's compatible. The pinout is different. 

 

Could someone tell me if the ones on the right are still compatible with AX1600i?

but at my Modest knowledge you should never swipe ur original cable to any other company cable

in terms only buy the same from the company of the psu even if they worked

Not all cables for the AX1600i are type 4.

Take a look at this. There are no type 4 sata/molex cables. I think you bougt a cable for AX1200 Gold or AX 650/750/850 Gold.

Can't tell if it's compatible from looking at a photo of the end of the cable. Even if the pins were in the same spots there's no guarantee they don't cross over to different spots on the other end of the cable.

Ebay for a cable is a bad idea , too many knockoffs that can destroy your components.

Not only do those not look like Type 4 cables, they don't look like Corsair cables at all.

 

Why are you going to eBay to buy PSU cables for a $600 PSU?  Jesus.

Btw. Cable at the bottom in picture is an original cable that came with AX1600i.

I checked, should be fine. Middle row is 5V.

Isn't it 3.3V they're missing? Which would be correct if they're 4 pin peripheral "molex" connectors.

That image on your website is facing the PSU looking at the socket on the PSU.

Just grabbed my Type 4 peripheral cables that came with my RMx (2018) to double check and they match the top image from OPs picture.

(My phone really did not want to focus on the connector)

Use a multimeter to check the continuity from the cables to confirm the pins are going to where they are meant to. You'll need to map both the end that plugs in to the PSU and the other end to compare it against the standard pinout for molex/SATA connectors. Or you can just YOLO it and assume they're compatible because the eBay seller said so, but you will risk damaging anything plugged in to them like fan/LED controllers or SSDs/HDDs if they're not compatible.

 

 

What did you need the new cables from ebay for? The AX1600i comes with a boat load of cables included and it looks like the ones you got are just plain black like the stock cables.

Not enough Molex. I'm using 5x AQ Octos.

 

The middle pin 5V (the entire row is 5V) goes to the same connector on the molex side like my OG Corsair cable.

I will trace again when I'm at home to see where the leads terminate at in Molex connector. Should be easy enough finding out by just tracing. I have original cable side by side so should be fine.

I tried existing cables and works like a charm. Those must be originals. 5x Octos working away. All fans always spin now and I can config it to follow temperature in 4 different spots.
