Are AMD R9 280 and R9 280X ROMs interchangable?

I've been wanting to flash my Asus R9 280 for a long time to support either Mac boot screen, or OpenCore boot screen. I haven't had any luck with creating my own custom ROM, and I've looked all over Google for an already made one, and all I can really find is one for 280X. I've read that HD 7950 and HD 7970 ROMs can be interchanged, does that apply to 280 and 280X as well? Cheers.
