BIOS doesn’t save changes/ Aura making serious problems

l3olt

Hello guys!!

im having the same problem as this dude,

but actually with the Asus armory crate I cannot solve this…

im also trying to put my mainboard on stealth mode as my pc is off. I’m having a baby soon and my computer will stay on his room and my wife is already complaining about the rgb/leds.

Every time I try to switch to stealth mode, this change will be undone after one shut down. Sometimes after I changed it, even my windows doesnt boot up!!!

I’ve also tried to change the ErP to s4+s5 but it makes the same problem…

i just did an Hardware Upgrade this week and now this happens!

Mainboard: Asus strix 590-e

cpu: 11700k

i will appreciate if you could help me!!

some highend motherboards might have dual BIOS or something like that, which can be buggy at times. I'm unsure what and how, if that could be related to your problem. Also an BIOS update could be something to look into and what newer BIOS versions do, if this is related to older BIOS. Although updating a BIOS can be very critical in how you do it, so the motherboard doesn't get bricked and might not be what you want to do if you don't feel for it.

could be another problem, and you have tried every save option? dunno if clearing the CMOS (motherboard battery) would do anything and if there is anything with how it shuts down etc.

A0 code is fine, looks like the problem is with the drive / windows.

The logo with the dots loading is after POST, so you should be able to still get in the bios. Maybe a weird storage setting? Having IDE / AHCI wrong will do that.

oh yeah if it tries to boot and fails, disconnect the drives to see if that helps getting into the BIOS screen.

sometimes the boot process can be annoying, and you didn't reset CMOS while the system was on? anyways seems like you might be able to identify the problem and what the debug lights say.

Aura sucks so bad. Its implementation is terrible, and so is its software. I had problems that only a bios update could solve.. because it also contained new firmware for the RGB controller, twice about 1 year ago. What you choose as your "pattern" or whatever gets paused when you reboot or reinstall windows.. it doesn't actually get saved to firmware, like my 3070 does.. Right now I just have rainbow puke running on the board and ram because the software is terrible in the fact that it leaches too many resources for the work it actually does. I do have my 3070 dark though. Just a bit of a rant 🙂

RGB has been around long enough where its controls should be integrated into uefi.. just saying 👍

Ok… right now it seems that after the BIOS update, everything works fine.

Weird that Asus Armoury crate gives me one Bios update from MARCH! And not the latest one from July!

hopefully it stays like that 🙏🏼
thank you guys for your help!

Ok guys… unfortunately I still have problems. I haven’t had problems for 3/4 days.
i didn’t I installed any programs at all. Just gamed for some ours.

When this happens, the windows tries to repair the start up, but unfortunately never works. Sometimes I try to start on safe mode and then windows initiates and run normally after that.
I’m 95% sure that ist everything correctly  plugged in.

I’m not sure what to do anymore…

Just to update:

-i have installed again the latest bios update.

-the pc didn’t boot up and started the automatic repair

- I’ve started the PC in safe mode and it worked.

- I did a shut down from safe mode and I tried the normal boot up.

- it worked!

- I have started the PC reset (deleting all data)

-the pc didn’t booted up after the first system restart!
🤦🏻‍♂️
