Upgrading motherboard...totally a newbie

I'm totally new to the world of pcs. Long story short: I purchased a prebuilt about a year ago. I've gradually been upgrading it piece by piece. I just purchased a pretty good motherboard on Newegg. I was trying to sleep. Anway, it hit me hard. Once the new mobo is installed--I'm in trouble. I have no idea where to go after that. Here are a few of my questions.

1. Will the pc even boot with my current M.2?

2. Do I have to reinstall windows because it's an OEM?

3. If I have to reinstall Windows, do I have to buy an activation key first and put it on a thumb drive? Or will it allow me to do it from the pc? I have an account that's linked to Microsoft.

4. Will I lose all of my games? My son and I have accumulated plenty of games this last year.

5. Are there any other issues that might arise?

I'm not very skilled with computers. I've fallen in love with them. But that doesn't help me much. I'd like to apologize in advance if I've broken any rules or posted on the wrong bored. I'm just starting to stress out.

Thanks for any help.

1. Yes it should boot with no issue with a new motherboard, if the drive isn't encrypted, which is likely isn't or you would know.

2. No reinstallation should be needed but (3.) you might need to activate Windows again with a new key. It will allow you to do that while in Windows.

4. I don't see why you would lose your games. As long as all your Harddrives will be plugged in again, your games should show up aswell.
