Netflix cookies legal?

No.

If you sign in  to Netflix, you recieve a cookie that Netflix uses to identify your session. If you don't sign out, I could then use that cookie to watch Netflix (until the cookie expires) if I somehow came into posession of that cookie. This isn't legal, since I don't have an account.

More importantly those "free cookies" were basically stolen from someone's account. Probably with some shady browser plugin or similar.
