Old cpu, (one currently installed)

Is a ryzen 3

The new one I tried to install is a ryzen 9 5600x which I'm pretty sure isnt compatible? It did work before too. I'm getting ready to take it apart again to make sure no pins are bent

If the Ryzen 3 worked before, but you put the 5600x in and it didn't work and you replaced the Ryzen 3 and it still won't work:

Try resetting the BIOS - you should be able to find the BIOS reset jumpers and touch a screwdriver to the two pins for several seconds. Then give it another try on booting up.

There's a clear CMOS jumper on your mobo (beside de CMOS battery).

From page 35 in your motherboard manual :

Quote

Resetting BIOS to default values
1. Power off the computer but DO NOT unplug the power cord (system under S5/
Soft-off mode).
2. Use a jumper cap to short JBAT1 for about 5-10 seconds.
3. Remove the jumper cap from JBAT1.
4. Power on the computer.

If you don't have a jumper, you can use a flat head screwdriver and short the pins instead.

If it doesn't work, look at the debug LEDs on your motherboard.

That's not what matters, it's the number after that that tells the generation and thus compatibility.

Okay I got the cpu part figured out. Now the boot led is lit up

Sorry I'm borderline technologically illiterate

Update: I'm dumber than I look. I turned it off then on again
