GTX 1080TI fans not spinning

Hi I repasted my MSI GTX 1080 Ti the card is working fine but the fans are not spinning despite of they are plugged in (not even when powering on). Linux says 0% and it is not lieing. Any ideas what have i done wrong?

do they spin under load? If the card is cool enough the fans are off.

GPU: RTX 2060 (MXM swappable)

Monitor: 1080p 120Hz

Storage: 2x 1 TB Samsung 970 EVO NVMe (no raid)

 

 

Second Laptop

CPU: Intel Core I5 1235u,  RAM: Samsung 8 GB 3200 mhz

GPU: IrisXe 80 eu

Storage: 512 GB WD Digital SN530 NVMe

Xiaomi MI 11

 

Work Phone:

i couldn't test it i have to set a power limit until I have a bigger PSU but they should turn on for a little bit when i turn on the pc. They worked as far as i remember before i repasted it

what are the card tempatures? Can you check?

Starting with the 1000 series GPUs, there was a zero fan RPM mode. Fans would not kick in until a determined temp in the BIOS, usually anywhere from 50-60c depending on the manufacture. You can override this with 3rd party software, though I don't use linux so not sure whats available to do this.

around 40 C but as i said they shouldn't they spin up when i start the pc?

No, not unless you have a custom fan curve set in software, otherwise by default fans are tuned to not spin until somewhere between 50 and 60c depending on the manufacture.

Go into msi afterburner and set the fan to 100%, if it works set it back to auto and you're fine.

If it doesn't spin when manually set in afterburner then it ain't working
