Random freezes after CPU and Motherboard replacement

Hello,
About a week ago I ordered new PC parts, and I installed them in my PC five days ago. Since the new parts, my PC has been getting random freezes. I first thought this was because of the voltage my CPU was getting sometimes (<0.95V), but I soon found out that was not the reason. I double-checked all cables, and everything seems to be attached just fine. Does anyone have an idea what could be the cause of this issue? (And how to solve it?)

PC Specs:
GIGABYTE Aorus B550 Elite V2
Ryzen 5 5600x
Corsair 2x8GB 3600 RAM
MSI GTX 1060 6GB (Want to replace this soon, but I want to have a perfectly running PC first)
550W PSU

Did you reinstall the OS and/or drivers after such a big hardware change, or did you plop your existing boot drive onto the new hardware?

I installed the needed drivers as far as I know

Very old, lmao.
An Intel i5-2500k and a ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3

You could probably get it to work, but I'd seriously consider installing everything fresh. I know it's a total pain, but that is a massive multi-generational leap, in addition to swapping brands.

By installing everything fresh, do you mean all the parts I reused (GPU and PSU)? Or do you mean my entire PC (so all the files, basically)?

Sorry for the confusion, I am strictly talking about software. Install Windows and start from scratch. Just make sure all your files are backed up first.

Alright, i will try that. Thank you for the advice, cuz it's been a pain in the ass to get new parts for €500+ just to get random freezing while gaming/working.

A change in hardware that monumental will cause all sorts of issues. It's really not surprising, but it will cost you some time reinstalling everything. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

I don't know if this changes anything, but I have already reactivated my Windows.

Also, I apologize if I sound like a complete noob, lol. I have never been into the technical stuff of PCs before a while ago.

First and foremost, after a big change like that, you should have reinstalled Windows from scratch.

 

EDIT: When I say reinstall windows, I mean FFR (old school term for, fdisk/format/reinstall... but I use it like "fucking format, reinstall")

No biggie. Just remember, everybody was a noob at everything at one point. Learning always starts somewhere.

You're going to want to make sure all your important files are backed up somewhere, then totally nuke your current installation and install Windows fresh.

Since you've already activated Windows on your new hardware, you shouldn't have to worry about that again. Microsoft will associate your key with your specific hardware and should automatically re-activate when you connect to the internet.

Alright. I will do it later this week (because I am currently working on a project). I assume I can just keep the games on my HDD, and the only stuff I have to back-up are my documents/images on the SSD (This storage device has Windows installed).

That is correct. You'll only be formatting your SSD, so only the things on that will need saved beforehand.

I have installed a new M.2 SSD and a new Windows installation about 9 hours ago, and I haven't had any freezes since! Thank you
