anything i should do/know before switching cpu's??

ive decided i wanted to upgrade my cpu from a ryzen 7 2700x to a ryzen 7 5800x and i was wondering if there are some things i might need to know as it is my first time doing anything like this before as i bough a pre built pc

well knowing if your machine supports a cpu several generations newer would be something worth knowing

Unless its a b350 or x370 it should

And a build with a zen+ cpu shoudl have at least a b450 so it just would need a bios update

If you have the B450M-A II in your profile, you need at least BIOS 2409.

 

Though that's a very low end board and a very high end, power hungry CPU. Not ideal if you want to get the most out of it.

i have BIOS 2807 atm, and thanks for the info!, any recommendations for motherboards that i should look into? i dont know too much about them
