USB Drive Issues

I put Pop OS on a USB to try out the Linux experience, but when I was done I used Rufus to make the device non bootable it says " The request could not preformed because of I/O device error." The USB stills works as a Pop OS live USB. How can i fix this and did I do something wrong?
