You'd need to upgrade your motherboard to switch to intel, I recommend just grabbing a Ryzen 7 5800x, they're on sale for $299 at Microcenter , $150 off. Only catch is you need to actually go there to buy it.

Just update the BIOS on your board, drop it in and you're good to go!

Yea no reason to upgrade, if you want more performance i guess you can try overclocking abit but cpu oc has been dead since 9th gen so i wouldnt reccomend it, just oc the crap out of your rams if you want more cpu performance

Your R5 3600 is very easy to flip, there is alot of people still on b350 with first gen Ryzen who would want to buy your CPU because they cant go Ryzen 5000.

So i would just sell the R5 3600 (for about 150bucks) and get a Ryzen 5000.

For the price of 12600k (300bucks) and a z690 board (200bucks) You could get a 5900x even without selling your old CPU.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x3D | MoBo: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk | RAM: G.Skill F4-3600C15D-16GTZ @3800CL16 | GPU: RTX 2080Ti | PSU: Corsair HX1200 |

Case: Lian Li 011D XL | Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe 500GB, Crucial MX500 500GB | Soundcard: Soundblaster ZXR | Mouse: Razer Viper Mini | Keyboard: Razer Huntsman TE Monitor: DELL AW2521H @360Hz |

Is there any reason you're looking to upgrade? The R5 3600 is still a solid CPU and pairs well with the 2070 Super. What advantages are you hoping to gain by upgrading? What do you use your computer for that would benefit from it?

in regards to future proofing, win10 gets retired october 2025.

Windows 11 requires Hardware acceleration of security instructions.

on 3000 series Ryzen, there's a flat 5% cost to this acceleration.

on 11th gen intel, the cost is greater, iirc its around 10-15% on intel 11th gen chips.

therefore switching to 10th gen intel would be a downgrade in this regard (ignoring performance difference)

upgrading to 5000' ryzen would be a decent direction to consider, as suggested above.

but yeah no real need to upgrade at this stage, and theres always plenty of perf. to squeeze out of your current build!
