PC won‘t boot when GPU is plugged in

Hi guys, a few days ago my PC instantly shut down while gaming (it was in use for a few weeks only - twice a week or so).

I haven‘t had any overheating issues. PSU was a bit low for my components so I swapped it out for a 1000W SFX Silverstone PSU (when it shut down it was a corsair sf750w, which performed perfectly fine until the crash).

Today I tried it with the 1000w to boot but unfortunately the PSU just clicks and nothing happens. When I unplug the GPU, everything lights up and the fans starts spinning etc.

The LEDs on the graphis card constantly stay red as there is no cable inserted.

What can I do? Kind of lost at the moment, even tried with a diffrent motherboard and two psus, PC won‘t boot when the GPU is connected, just the PSU making a clicking noise.

Parts (watercooled)
5900x
3090 Strix
Silverstone SFX 1000w

Is my GPU dead? If so, how?!

thanks in advance for ANY help!!!
